Hi James,
your comment: He's currently trying to do it through iAccess (or whatever IBM is calling it this week),
I am grateful to you for keeping us centered on the current week as IBM's names are VARYING from week to week https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/i/7.3?topic=statement-perform-varying-phrase

I have not counted how many weeks it has been that IBM has been calling IBM i Access Client Solutions by this name, but not quite as many as the 728+ weeks that they have been using the name IBM Power Systems.
In 5250 Emulator (or whatever they call it this week),
do a 'Transfer from IBM i' (or whatever they call it this week) to get the true table and field definitions.
Save or reuse that file transfer definition (or whatever they call it this week).
Use that file transfer definition (or whatever they call it this week) to upload the spreadsheet (or whatever they call it this week) to the PF (or whatever they call it this week).
The data in the spreadsheet (or whatever they call it this week) will populate the PF (or whatever they call it this week) on DB2 for i (or whatever they call it this week).
Eric
