Have you looked at the help in the Data Transfer interface? There might not be direct information about DTFX, but it might get you started. I did discover that there is an option to use native SQL or Data Transfer syntax in Properties, I think, in the interface.

As I don't use Data Transfer anymore but have to support some of it, I wonder, how do you prompt for user input? With TTO files, people here open them in the interface and change what they need to - like date ranges or account codes.
