Once the ATT gateway has re-connected (which takes 3 or 4 minutes) then simply cycling the power on the main router brings it back into full operation.

So the "whatever" device could be directly connected to an ethernet port on the ATT gateway and controlled that way.

Another option is to simply fit a timer in the router power circuit and have it cycle its power once a day. That way I only lose connection for a period of time.

Is it just RemotesEndPointDevice which fails to connect while other devices there connect?

I'm having a problem with the internet at a remote location. Basic issue appears to be that every time there is a power outage the router comes up faster than the ATT gateway. As a result it doesn't connect and I lose all access to router connected devices.

I can see on Amazon and elsewhere a range of devices that seem to support power cycling but the reviews are incredibly mixed.

Anyone got any suggestions of power cycling devices that work for them?
