well - for sure there's always multiple ways to achieve a goal,
but the goal is to have an IFS directory to serve for temporary
files without the hazzle...

kinda like QTEMP (i am not asking for a jobs unique /tempdir
directory, this is an other idea ;-)

In that case, just use the OS/400 or IBMi command processing exits (QIBM_QCA_CHG_COMMAND and QIBM_QCA_RTV_COMMAND) to add the equivalent of a Validity Checking program to the CHGAUD command?

Or, just attach a VCP directly to the IBM-supplied command...
