Those are good points. I have no idea how IBM "slices the pie" or
decides what to work on, and bundling may well ossify the product.
My *guess* is that there already isn't much development in AJS anyway.
(Maybe people who have been using it a long time and know it well can
speak to whether it's been getting updates.)
So from my naive perspective, IBM might as well be making more money
from it, and customers might as well have more functionality available
to them. Seems like there are only winners and no losers in that
scenario.
