I need to be able to control if a menu can be displayed. Example: we need
to do maintenance on the system and do not want to rename menu programs
because that is a crude and clunky method, but is an effective way to
prevent users from taking more menu options.

Does anyone know of a way to use something like an exit point that can be
fired off to check if the menu can be displayed? If the system is in
maintenance mode, it should call a program that displays information to the
user telling them the system is down for maintenance. I have this program
already. I now want a way to get the menu to check and call the program if
the maintenance flags are on.

The menus are standard GO MENU menus.

I do not want to reprogram the menus and there are a number of them.

TIA, Darryl Freinkel.
