Subject: Creating command with variable parameters

I need to create a command with parameters that vary based on other values
entered. The best example I can think of is the SAVOBJ command. If I
specify DEV(*SAVF), it provides the area to enter the savf name. If I
specify DEV(TAPMLB30), it provides the area for the volume identifier and
sequence number.

I have googled for how to do this but I am apparently missing the keywords
(no pun intended) for google to return the correct search results. Does
anyone have a command that does this that they would be willing to share?
