But it seems to me that administering open source on the i could be
similar to what you're doing already. Just get into the habit of
periodically issuing "yum update" (that one command updates all the
yum-updateable packages on your system).

Administering PASE is, in my opinion, not as complicated as
administering Linux. Mainly because there are far fewer choices, and
the choices you do have are built and released by IBM. (That's not
strictly true, but it's a close enough approximation for now.)
