The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

I would think a NAS would be better than a USB stick. A USB drive would be better than a USB stick.
What method are using to back up the data to a USB stick ?
Image Catalog or something else ?

When it was working "properly" it seemed to run reasonably quickly.
Since it's an overnight job a *little* faster or slower doesn't matter.
It's when it's many hours that there's an issue.
Do you know if there are issues specifically with larger capacity sticks, e.g. larger than 128GB or 256GB?
These sticks are nearly new and they get rotated.
