Thanks for the replies.

I guess my problem was not searching for "partition" information

Both SYSPARTITIONSTAT and SYSTABLESTAT are exactly what I wanted and will
allow me to do what I wanted.

Thanks all

Don

SELECT
substr(TABLE_NAME, 1, 10) ,
count(table_partition) qty_members
FROM QSYS2.SYSPARTITIONSTAT
WHERE
TABLE_SCHEMA = 'LIBRARY'
AND
TABLE_NAME='FILE'
GROUP BY TABLE_NAME

for me works fine

Definitely. And it was covered earlier. I just missed that he also
asked
for a count of members (partitions).

Wouldn't SYSPARTITIONSTAT give the member list?

Thank you,

Subject line says "return list of members in physical file" not how many
members.
I don't think SYSTABLESTAT will do this.
