That's the one.
Remember, in DB talk a member is a partition.
If money is no object for your shop there is a product called DB2 Multisystem from IBM. It will allow your data to automatically go into partitions(members) based on columns, etc. For example, want everything in a different partition by year? No problem, it can automatically do it, often with no programming changes.
