There are APIs to list threads, semaphores and shared memory segments.
I got rather familiar with these with Domino.
The old Navigator used to have options to list these. Even later versions of the old Nav had it removed. IBM felt that true developers (from the unix/aix world) who use such things detest gui and thrive on command line. I was using it for Domino to delete them so I didn't have to reboot the machine after a hung Domino server. The Domino team wrote a few utilities to help such as DLTDOMSMEM (Delete Domino shared memory) and DLTDOMSEM (Delete Domino semaphores).

This is IBM's take on it.
There was an Internal Memory Corruption within Netserver.
It was not going be corrected by stopping/restarting the server.
He did a bunch of cleanup to attempt to get it all resolved and did internal IPL to that server.
Everything cleaned up and he was able to get it going except for something for threading.
On Saturday I have an automated system backup that basically does a go save 21 and then an IPL.
That failed.
Had to re-ipl to get it going.
It's amazing how we expect it just run that when it doesn't, the wheels fall off.
