Replicating updates to a production file on development system

We're setting up a test environment on our dev machine (V7R3) for an
application. During the test phase we want to simulate the
updates/insert/deletes on a production (V7R3) file in the test environment
so it stimulates the production transactions in near real time.

This is only temporary during the initial testing phase so we're looking
for a no cost, temporary solution. Anyone have any suggestions?
