Yes of course, If you are trying to use them and they are part of a raidset
that's no longer viable (different controller, missing disks, etc), they
will most likely present as DPHxxx and you must initialize them to be able
to use them in new parity sets and or add to an ASP

074. I was initializing a bunch of drives on a Power 6 that I had done
some serious shifting around. That was a long time ago for my shop. Some
lean years and that Power 6 was full of all sorts of strange hardware
carried over from upgrades. Went straight to P8 from there and now on P9's
and one P8 still.
I think I had to initialize and format all those drives.

050 means that the disk has no RAID protection
070 072 074 etc mean that it is part of a parity set and the last digit
references how much space is dedicated to the parity space (I cannot
remember what %).
