Rob

That appears to be more of a SAS pathing error - based on the
VRSAS_ERR21TD error label.
based on a search finding this page ..........
[1]https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/IV29871

That being the case you would want to be running fabquery type commands
which are found in diags under ......

drill down from
Diag > Task Selection > RAID Array Manager > IBM SAS RAID Array Manager >
DIAG and Recover Options > Show SAS Controller Physical Resources
(you can get to this point with smit sas_show_controller_menu)
From Show Fabric Path Data View
Adapter Adapter Port Path Active Path State Device
--------- ------------ ----------- ----------- --------
sissas0 0 Yes Operational pdisk0

Node SAS Address Port Type Phy Status Info
---- ---------------- ----------- ---- ----------- --------
1 500507606AB5DA01 Adapter 0 Operational 6.0 GBPS
2 5000C50076422BC3 LUN 0 Operational 00

you want to ensure that BOTH paths are functional

Cheers
Shaun

Subject: Checking the status of vios disks

You know in disk drives hosted by IBM i you can do a WRKDSKSTS,
F11=Display storage use and the status should be ACTIVE. If you, then you
have issues.
In VIOS what's the similar function?
I noticed some errors on the HMC pertaining to disk for these.
On the HMC
