I seem to remember having to order WQE or some variation in order to get
QU1 on a system.

Thanks, Steve, for the explanation. I do not use partitions or web query.
They haven't yet explained what they were to me, but now that I know I am
convinced they're hoping most won't notice the extra charges.

5661-WQE is SWMA for Web Query. This is not required but they need to
remove the Web Query LPP from the config to prevent this from being
included

5771-ALS and 5771-PVS is SWMA charges for PowerVM. If you are doing any
virtualization (VIOS, LPARs) that this is required. If it is a single
LPAR
system that PowerVM is not required. Here again if PowerVM is not
required
they will need to remove the LPP to prevent the SWMA from being added to
the support contract.

Subject: SWMA Addons for this year from IBM?

I finally was able to get an invoice for my SWMA and it looks like IBM is
tacking on a few more bigger ticket items (I have a developer account).

Anyone know what these are? Finding out from IBM is like pulling teeth.
They claim it was a discount for people who didn't have a SWMA and these
were waived for a year, but I never had them for over 8 years and never
dropped my SWMA.

Here are the new items. It's basically upped the price by 10x for a
developer.

5661-WQE 1-Year After License SWMA for 5733-WQE (Purchase Only, @ No
Discount) - Appears to be web query, which I don't use

5771-ALS After License SWMA for 5765-PVS/VS3(Purchase Only, @50%
Discount)
-
No idea what this is.

5771-PVS 1-Year SWMA for 5765-PVS/VS3 (Purchase Only, @50% Discount) - No
Idea here either.
