The CLOB I mentioned earlier is defined the same way.

I'm not sure when it was introduced, but at least on 7.4 there's a
keyword on the D-spec, e.g.

DCL-S MYBLOB SQLTYPE(BLOB:500);

or

D MYBLOB S SQLTYPE(BLOB:500)
