I checked and that attribute is *NOMAX on both our servers.
Here's a sample of the email I get from our oldest server for an email
it can't send... This notification email arrives with the Subject
UNDELIVERABLE MAIL from QGATE.ELIJAH.UNBEATENPATH.
NOT ABLE TO DELIVER MAIL TO SOME/ALL RECIPIENTS.
REPLY CODES WITH FIRST DIGIT = '4' OR '5' ARE ERROR REPLIES.
ERRORS THAT DO NOT HAVE ERROR REPLY CODES MAY EXIST.

Again, this works when the destination email has unpath.com as the domain, but not comcast.net.
BTW, the v7r3 server (Power7) never even sends the Undeliverable email. Nothing ever arrives.
Here's a wierd thing: This all used to work fine for years, but we changed the router back in 2020 and it's misbehaved since then).
Best Regards,
Thomas Garvey

May be an unrelated shot from the hip but I'm rather swamped today. Your issue wouldn't have anything to do with
CHGPOPA MSGSPLIT(*NOMAX)
not being turned on, would it?
