I agree that there is no better time to come out with support for a more current underlaying OS than when coming out with a new major release of HMC.
OTOH, if they were hell bent for leather to come out with an update for HMC for the new Power 10 then I can understand that. I too, would hope that the next version would support a newer OS.

I suggest you submit a RFE to this at:

Put detail in there about the EOS dates of the underlying OS's.
