Good day everyone. Most of you know this but for those who don't .....

In IBM's Fix Central, notifications about PTFs / defective PTFs, Preventative Service Planning, HMC, the Power box you're running
can be sent directly to your email every time IBM has a customer notification.

Here's how to set it up:
Log on to Fix Central. https://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/

In Fix Central, click the "Manage Support Accounts" tab then "Notifications".
Once there, click delivery preferences and set it up as you prefer. Self explanatory.

Next, click "Browse for a Product". "IBM i Operating Systems", "IBM i". Then "IBM i + Subscribe". Self explanatory. Select what you want.
Also select IBM i VxRx Preventative Service Planning.

I also picked off the model of hardware and the HMC for notifications as well.
You get the gist. Every time something important comes up, you get an IBM email notif.

This alerted me to an important PTF that I installed on our partitions yesterday.

In the notification was a memo about a PTF that caught my eye:
At V7R2 - R720 SI76798
At V7R3 - R730 SI76797
At V7R4 - R740 SI76785
APAR 75883.
The PTF is immediate or delayed and was put on without trouble.

What really caught my eye was this:
720 - High Impact/Pervasive PTFs (HIPER)
Preventive Service Planning
Abstract
SF98189: High Impact/Pervasive PTFs (HIPER)

23 Aug 2021 PROBLEM: (SE75883) Licensed Program = 5770SS1

USERS AFFECTED: All IBM i operating system users.
RECOMMENDATION: Apply PTF SI76798 for IBM i 7.2.
RECOMMENDATION: Apply PTF SI76797 for IBM i 7.3.
RECOMMENDATION: Apply PTF SI76785 for IBM i 7.4.

Very Respectfully,
Michael Mayer
