Re: Question on CPYFRMSTMF

I'm trying to use the CPYFRMSTMF command to copy some data from the IFS into an IBM I database file. The data in the IFS is in a tab-delimited text file, created by simply saving a CSV file as a text file. When I use the CPYFRMSTMF command I use the following keywords: STMFCCSID(*PCASCII), ENDLINFMT(*CRLF), and TABEXPN(*NO).

I have a field that is defined as a text field in the CSV file. This field contains an alphanumeric vendor number. It basically looks like this: 00123456. The database file I'm copying it into has one large 1,076-character field for each row of data from the text file. For some reason when the data is copied it drops the zeros off the front of the vendor number, so that it looks like this: 123456. The vendor number file I need to read using the number has the zeros on the front, so I need them there. What part of the CPYFRMSTMF command removes those zeros? Would it be better to use CPYFRMIMPF instead? Any info is as always appreciated. Thanks!
