I only replace the JAR when doing updates. I only do the entire update
when IBM support won't help me until I do so.

I guess it all depends...

subject: iACS Updates - Do you just replace the acsbundle.jar

I have been working on an issue with IBM in relation to Buttons not
working correctly and the issue has now been identified as an iACS
problem.

IBM issued a fix version of the acsbundle.jar file for us to test and it
resolved the problem.

Interestingly I have seen numerous comments on this list about updating
iACS by just replacing the acsbundle.jar file and not using the update
procedure so I thought I would post the response from IBM support in
relation to that practice ...

IBM's Comment ...
It is important that this Test Fix is only used with IBM i ACS 1.1.8.7.
There are code dependencies between the acsbundle.jar and the acslaunch
executable and acsnative.dll and acspcoc.exe that are in the Start
Programs folders. There can be negative side effects like slower product
launch times or even failures if these code parts are not all at the same
release level.

Just thought I would pass this on.

Cheers

Don
