Hello,

for anyone interested, I documented the PSU pinout for the 9401-150 here: https://try-as400.pocnet.net/wiki/9401-150_Power_Supply_Pinout

This includes some hints how to replace the original PSU with an PC-ATX style PSU. Thanks to Yvan Janssens for pointing out that he did such a replacement successfully once before, so I knew it was possible to do.

A 150 with 64MB of RAM, CD-ROM, original tape, and 3x 6607 disks with an used "modern style" PSU around 10 years old now draws around 66W from mains. This isn't exactly comparable with the 100W I've measured a long time ago with a different machine, more and faster disks, and more RAM but the original PSU. Given the much lower temperature coming from the PSU exhaust, I guess that just replacing the PSU with a modern, 2020 standards, high efficiency one might save something between 10..20W wasted by being converted into just heat by the old PSU. Quite an achievement considering the high kWh-price here in Germany. Especially when you want to run that box 24/7.

:wq! PoC
