I've never had to specify a port...

Also be aware there are three different OLE DB drivers
*Database Provider* *Framework* *Consideration*
*IBMDA400* OLE DB Provider Existing applications; applications that want
the most flexible OLE DB support, including support for SQL, RLA, Data
Queues, and Commands.
*IBMDASQL* OLE DB Provider SQL-only support; SQL commitment control and
MTS; (Note: IBMDA400 does not support SQL commitment control or MTS)
*IBMDARLA* OLE DB Provider RLA-only support; Forward-only cursors and block
fetches with RLA; (Note: IBMDA400 does not support forward-only cursors or
block fetches with RLA)
*IBM.Data.DB2.iSeries* .NET Provider Offers the best performance when using
the .NET framework.

To be honest, it seems a bit strange to be wanting to use OLEDB now-a-days.

I'd expect them to want a .NET driver.

FYI: .NET Core driver is only available with Db2 Connect. :/

Hi,

We have some consultants that want to connect to our IBM I using the OLE
DB provider. Does anyone know what server needs to running to accept that
connection? I would assume it is the same one that handles ODBC, but I
could be wrong. Also, what port would it try to connect on? Thanks.
