Honestly the right thing is being done: "Make it go away."

Objects should be owned by profiles specifically created to do just 
that. Profiles that are disabled and cannot sign on as  you suggest.

Jobs that must run with full ownership can run under that profile and 
that profile can be adopted for many tasks.
