Have you thought of using a dummy data area. Read the data area with a
lock. If someone else has the data area it waits or times if long wait.

Finish working on order. Release the lock.

with the ALCOBJ?


a CL program which creates an order in the APLUS system is run whenever a
new order arrives from shopify. But this "create an order" program cannot
run when another instance of the program is also running. Which is why the
ALCOBJ is used. Just wanted to have a simple way to make sure the ALCOBJ
lock will be released.
