Hello James,

I found a brand new DAT160, to do a full backup of our E4A

Congrats! Did you verify that it shows up as TAPxx?

How on Earth does one do a GO SAVE 21 (which of course takes the system down to restricted state) on a box with no Twinax?

Do I need to power up the old WinDoze box that has LAN Console, in order to do it?

You rely on a machine with apparently no tested console connection? :-O

You don't necessarily need it for Save 21 purposes (as others pointed out), but if you need to do any interactive recovery, you're doomed. Don't wait until it's too late.

I'm using a vHMC with the E4A, and iACS has a console feature via that HMC. I need way too many times to enter different passwords to get the actual console display, but eventually it works like a charm.

:wq! PoC
