Do not forget that for the ENDSBS *ALL command when you are doing this in batch you need to include the BCHTIMLMT parameter to tell the system a) I KNOW this is happening in batch, do this anyway, b) how long it's OK to stay in batch restricted state before the system starts the controlling subsystem automatically to rescue a failed backup.

Additionally note that the operator panel will show an SRC code during the backup indicating it's running in batch restricted state.

Create a CL with these commands.
Then submit this to QCTL

Betreff: GO SAVE 21 on a box with no Twinax?

I found a brand new DAT160, to do a full backup of our E4A (the first in quite some time), and then it hit me:

How on Earth does one do a GO SAVE 21 (which of course takes the system down to restricted state) on a box with no Twinax?

Do I need to power up the old WinDoze box that has LAN Console, in order to do it?
