Wonder what it was? I ran a SYSNAP on 8/10/2020 to our LAN (Standard practice) to have all IBM I partition info available
to review at any time. We do this at 6 month intervals. I've never experienced any issue with SYSSNAP. For me (@ V7R2),
I've never had any issue with anything running out of MGTOOLS. Perhaps we've been fortunate. I download it and
update it off the menu every time an update is available.

I wonder what the pre Sep problem was?
"If the build date is before September 28, 2020 update QMGTOOLS before use."

There is a warning in APAR SE72229

"Using QMGTOOLS/SYSSNAP when build date is between April 17,2019 and before July 16,2019 is not supported as it may cause unpredictable errors that may require recovery steps."

Said recovery steps may require you to recover some of YOUR STUFF from tape.

ANY Time IBM requests that you send them a SYSSNAP it says: "Be sure to tape the option to UPDATE QMGTOOLS before you run the snap. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP." (No shit!)

Often we are seeing now that customers are blocking access to IBM from their systems, this prevents the upgrade from working. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP! If you cannot enable access to IBM then obtain a new copy of QMGTOOLS in another way!!!

Consider yourself warned!
