In GoAnywhere Derby is kinda "zero admin".

Mark is right that you should possibly go with Db2 for i if you're hanging
in there. But it probably is no big deal to stay with Derby until HS/Linoma
gives up on it themselves.

However, the second option is perfectly sound: you/they are just accepting
that GoAnywhere doesn't work with the IBM Just In Time (JIT) compiler right
now.

The extra option at the end -XX:-UseVMInterruptibleIO should be perfectly
okay.
