Hi all,

i have an RFE i ask you to review:

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=148591

This is about what IBM i shall do when hitting a damaged object in a save operation.
Source is a (still open) ticket where i have two outq with a damaged spool file so
any save operation will stop at QUSRSYS (where the outq objects reside) and the
backup (and even the backup device) remain unusable.
So all libraries after QUSRSYS are not saved which can result in a bad situation
if you need to recover the system.

Current solution is to delete the affected spool files - but as there is an other
problem in V7R3 where randomly a spool file gets damaged you really have
to struggle to get a full backup at all…

Thanks for considering voting.

Holger
