Um, if the users all "sign on under a group profile" then wouldn't they know the group profile's password?
Or did you mean the users have a group profile assigned to their user id? If so, then that should not matter as they still access the file with their user id and not the groups. Unless the job is submitted to batch under the group profile and not the user who submitted it.
Work around:
Job is submitted under MYGROUP.
ADDSVRAUTE USRPRF(MYGROUP) SERVER(toserver) USRID(mygrouprdb) PASSWORD(...)
After you created the id MYGROUPRDB on TOSERVER
If that still fails we may need more data from the joblog, like the exact message numbers and the reason codes.
One difference between interactive and imbedded may be some object called an sql package...
