I am not sure about S36 environment printer definitions but we have the
same printer configured on multiple systems.

You need to specify the inactivity to *SEC15 so the device is released
which allows a different system to use the device.

I am transferring a system to a new server. All printers will in time be
running only from new system as old box will be retired.



Printers are connected to the network via TCPIP.



Problem is that in order to test application fully I need to configure
printers on new box and – no – creating output queues is not enough since
the application is running in S36 mode! (Yes I know!!! But the application
runs just fine and has not changed for years… Customer just need new fast,
supported hardware to run it on).



What happens if I create a printer device on the new box with the same IP
address?
