I worked on Series 1 about 35+ years ago using EDX.

IBM in Australia used to use Series 1 to control the door locks for secure
access to the building.

We used to buy RPG coding sheets from IBM.

A tradesman showed me how to use a metal bottle opener in the card reader
to open the doors - So much for the security!!!

I remember one of the programmers patching the kurnel to make something
work - She was an awesome programmer with Series 1 and EDX, fast and very
few bugs, used to call the machine Beastie!! You referring to the machine
as a Beast reminded me.

But I remember very, very, very little of Series 1.

Cheers

Don

I'm pretty sure that a couple of folks here have mentioned working on
Series 1 - if so I'd like to hear from them or from anyone with any
experience of programming for the beast.
