It could be as simple as CRTPF ... RCDLEN(1) ... in other words, a PF with no DDS source. Try that in QTEMP, then issue a DSPFFD to see if the generated record name and field name matches what you see in those files.
Otherwise, there are various RTVDDSSRC tools around, originally published in some of the magazines like Data Network/Midrange Computing, NEWS/400, etc. -- for example the shareware tool WRKDBF by Bill Reger includes that command -- download it from
http://www.wrkdbf.com ... it is now a pay-for product but very low cost and has a 30-day free trial, IIRC.

This batch process basically runs all the time - so we don't try to backup these files... there are about 40 of them.

I need to recreate them on a new box. I don't have the DDS, so I was just going to get the SQL definitions using ACS and recreate them. But the SQL Database manager doesn't "see" them (even if I look under "All Database Objects" in the Schemas view.
Any ideas?
