With the WRKIMGCLGE command are you specifying thus:

WRKIMGCLGE IMGCLG(*DEV) DEV(<your vdev here>)

Any time you are using hosted image catalogues you need *DEV for the catalog name and then specify the device to use to get to it.

Same with LODIMGCLGE

It's possible, but...

- The NFS server must be Version 3.  Other versions are not supported.
- Images must be created on the NFS server prior to being used by a save on an IBM i client.  Save operations cannot dynamically create new images or dynamically extend the size of existing images, so some understanding of the size of the save operation is required.
- A volume list file must be created on the NFS server that contains a list of images to be used by an IBM i client. The volume list file must have the following characteristics:
