Thanks. We'll double-check this morning.
I'm trying to keep from getting pretty steamed about his because this server was one of those IBM Express deals, where RAID protection was required as a feature, and the box was delivered completely set up, software installed, etc. We basically plugged it in.
Why would IBM deliver a box with RAID capability and not configure it?
Is it possible RAID5 was our responsibility? Can it be set up AFTER the OS and Licensed software is installed by IBM?
Best Regards,

Subject: Catastrophic disk failure
Hi,
We experienced a disk drive failure and were unconcerned since we had replacements available and believed that RAID5 was protecting us.
Now our technician is not sure whether our disks are actually protected.
Can someone tell me what the DST screen should show if our drives actually have RAID enabled? We can't get through an IPL but we can boot it into DST at least.
We are afraid we may have to rebuild from a system save tape.
