Thanks Paul..there are two changes needed...there is an IP assigned to the vHMC which is the one accessible from the "Console Management" link.  Since I was changing networks as well as host IP I needed to make that change AFTER I accessed the ASM and changed the FSP IP.  There was an option for launching the ASM in the vHMC which basically started a new "tab" and I signed in.  On that menu I chose "Network Configuration" and changed the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway entries and then saved the changes.  Then I changed the console settings so that the HMC could find the FSP again.

So far, it works when I am attached to the local network but I am still trying to sort out the issues of accessing the FSP IP remotely through our VPN so I can run the vHMC on my laptop connecting through the VPN to the FSP.  Just need to put my network and routing hat on for a while...

I don't have a vHMC, but an HMC.

Subject: Change the FSP IP address

Seems like the only way to change an FSP IP address is to use ASMI to do that.  Is that correct?   I barely remember setting up the vHMC a year ago and that is when I set the IP.  I'd like to change it if possible. There are some instructions that mention getting to the ASM through the HMC which is what I will try, but it seems like I saw where the ASMI had a web interface that could be used directly?
