I have zero tolerance for such vendors. I have switched from multiple vendors for failing to support the current release of IBM i. Not an idle threat here...

One would think that if this customer bears a big enough club to get IBM to put 7.1 on certain P9's then that club should be sufficient for their other vendor. Therefore I suspect it's more of a vendor is out of business, software is heavily modified, or some such thing.

However continuing to run 7.1 with it's cipher flaws and whatnot for a large company also seems suspicious.
Would IBM really do this on an altruistic nature for large numbers of small companies?
