The problem I have with the login script is IDC if they have other shares on various Windows servers. I just want to delete/rebuild the one(s) on IBM i. Thus
NET USE * /delete /yes
Might be a bit thermonuclear. Because then I would be responsible for adding the NET USE <rebuild stuff> for the other shares.
I did some testing. In your example I could replace that with
NET USE Y: /delete /yes
But now I think I can work with this. Thank you.

The log on script won't abort if it runs the following but it was not there, will it?
NET USE Y: /delete /yes

We solved this by deleting/adding the mapped drives to our Win login scripts.
NET USE * /delete /yes
NET USE Y: \\LPAR name\folder name
