Yes - they need to see the data - they just cannot update/change it

I replied to your e-mail, saying that it was simple
Now that Ive thought about it - maybe its NOT so simple
How would the trigger program stop the update/change of that field?

The problem with the view ideas others have mentioned...

As I read your OP, you want folks to see the data, but not update it.

Now if you don't want anybody to see it, then yeah locking out the PF and
accessing the data through a view w/o that column is the old school way;
which RCAC replaces.

Old school method would be a BEFORE UPDATE trigger that disallows the
update if the column has changed.
