You can, although you might have issues with printer support since v5r4 is
so old.

This command will create a print queue. You'll need to supply the hostname
and printer queue (9100 works for a lot of network printers). See
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/644553 for MFTRYPMDL.

Client Access and OS V5R4.

Is it possible to get V5R4 to send prints directly to the networked
