Based on some recent conversations here I thought I'd bring this up.
IBM charges a fee for software service.
At some time the software becomes EOS or End Of Service.
You can purchase "Extended Service" when it reaches EOS. You basically pay double. During Extended Service IBM may, or may not, fix some issues with new PTFs. For example 7.1 is only available with Extended Service but they recently did issue some new PTF's for that.
Now, 7.1 is approaching End OF Extended Service. In the past that was the end of the road. With 7.1 they are coming out with Extended Extended Service. You still pay double but as far as new PTF's you can forget about that.

So, if you are at 7.2 you want to get to 7.3 or 7.4 before the end of April 2021 or you will start paying double for software maintenance.
