SYSCST

Hi Rob

Curiosity got the better of me

I just looked at SYSCHKCST - this tells me what constraints are in use - but not against whichever files

Do you (or anyone else) happen to know which view and/or table would tell me which file and/or table has constraints?

According to the help on CHGPFCST the only message you can monitor is:

DSPMSGD RANGE(CPF32B2)

Thanks for your reply Rob

To a certain (read LARGE) extent - its me being lazy

For example

We also run the command in this process

CHGPFTRG

To disable the trigger while this refresh is happening , and then run it again once the refresh is finished

We do that to ALL the files - irrespective if the file has triggers or not and MONMSG the appropriate CPF if the file has no triggers

I assumed (rightly or wrongly) that CHGPFCST would also work in the same manner

Again, I would MONMSG the appropriate CPF if no constraints are present

Ok, maybe I should have made my reply to this email:

<snip>

It looks like I can *DISABLE the constraints before the refresh and then *ENABLE the constraints after the refresh Just need to know what happens if the file has no constraints when I attempt to try each command on such a file </snip> Basically, if you check the SYSCST* views then why would you be concerned about files with no constraints?

Hi Rob

Thanks for your reply

We are using vendor software (the name escapes me at the moment - I will try and find that out later today)

So I am unable to answer this question

My question to you is - why this question?

(Apologies - Monday morning - not had my 27th cup of coffee yet)

Am I missing what you are asking me?

Hi everyone

We are on V7r3

We have a process that refreshes files on our development system, from our production system

So far - we have had no problems

Except today

It seems that constraints (on the development system) causes the file NOT to be refreshed

Is there a "good" way to

1. recognize the files that have constraints

2. Then - disable them

3. Finally - after the files have been refreshed , to enable them

As always - all answers gratefully accepted
