I am loathe to even suggest this, but you could go with the dumb terminal
setup (ie. ENTER=Field Exit & right CTRL=ENTER).
When I need Field Exit, I map right-CTRL to Field Exit and leave ENTER
as Enter.
I never actually use right-CTRL as CTRL anyway for any application, so
it doesn't bother me to map it to Field Exit.
