Art,

<vendor_message>
keeping in mind your previous messages, I assume that you need a tool
to send authorized https post requests to some web server. I suggest
you to pay attention to our i2Rest: https://www.i2rest.com/index.php/Main_Page.
It is easy to install, can work with http(s), allows you to log outgoing and
incoming messages, and supports main OAuth2 flows as well as Basic
authentication. Native IBMi application (no PASE and Java). And it's Client is
completely free.
You may also be interested in the second part of our product - i2Rest Server,
which can be used instead of IWS to turn IBMi programs into services, also with
OAuth2 support.

Regards,
Alexei

My project needs to run in batch twice a day to get a login token for
another app.

Qshell is not PASE. Qshell is NOT "PASE." QSHELL IS NOT PASE!

Try using CALL QP2TERM ... if you want to do PASE stuff from a 5250 ...

While Qshell isn't PASE, the QSH command *is* still capable of
launching PASE commands. In fact, I always use QSH to launch PASE
commands, if it's within a CLP.

However, it is true that if you are working *interactively*, there is
pretty much no substitute for logging in via SSH and having a proper
TTY terminal.

I never use the QP2* commands at all. Ever.
