Since upgrading our ACS from 1.1.8.2 to 1.1.8.4 (we skipped 1.1.8.3), our initial session takes 13 seconds.
Users are complaining.
We use central deployment from a share to a Windows server.
Previously, is was about 5 seconds.

I opened a case.
IBM reported back that this is normal.

From IBM support.
When you first opened the hod session IBM i ACS was not running yet and the product had to be initialized. That took about 5 seconds.
Then the product had to check out an 5770XW1 license and that process took about 2 seconds.
then the 5250 session actually connected to the main menu and that took about 6 seconds.

Successive sessions from same PC take 5 seconds.

One thing that I did notice is that you are running with Java 8, and on Java 8 with IBM i ACS 1.1.8.4 a launching splash screen is no longer displayed. The splash screen was updated, but that update leverages capabilities that aren't available in Java 8, but in Java 11 and later.

So, I have noticed that when I launch IBM i ACS 1.1.8.4 with Java 8 my perception of launch time is that it is much longer because I don't see anything happening. Where when I launch with java 11 it doesn't seem like it takes as long because I am seeing progress happening, but in reality the launch times are fairly similar, so maybe that is coming into play?

Anyone in the group noticing similar issues?

Any resolutions?
Thank You
