Rob, unfortunately I still have not really worked much with Powerapps.

However it seems there must be something small perhaps you're doing incorrectly if only your get operation works.

Perhaps you need some sort of appkey, apikey or other auth token with Powerapps to be able to issue anything other than a get.

Just thinking out loud as I have not dug into it.

Hi Nathan, no I don't think it's an IBM i issue as you mentioned. I was hoping that someone had already been down this road and may have some insight to share.
As I mentioned, I've not had any success as of yet with assistance on the MS PowerApps side.

Rob,

Although you're attempting to connect to and use IBM i services, it
sounds like your concerns are really issues with PowerApps, which
appears to be Microsoft's version of EGL. If you do suspect that the
issues may be IBM i related, could you clarify?

Nathan.

Hi All, I came across a discussion last night about retrieving data
from the IBM i using PowerApps.

I've been able to access data from a table by creating a custom
connector directly to the table and have also been able to access
the data through
a
custom connector to a REST API on the IBM i.
But both have issues.

When connecting to a table the problem is that all tables (tables
not
indexes/logicals) in all libraries are shown for selection. This
list is sorted by library name so there may be hundreds of tables
before I get to the tables I'm looking for (if I even get to it).
After hundreds of
tables
are shown the last entry allows you to enter a library and table name.
Does anyone know how to limit/filter this list to just certain
libraries
or
tables? Should I be seeing indexes?

As for the REST API approach. I have created four crud apis for a table.
(GET, POST, PUT, DELETE) I have tested all four using Postman with
success. But when I try to create a custom connector in PowerApps,
on
the
test tab only the GET works. The tests fail for POST, PUT and DELETE.

I have been posting on the PowerApps forums for weeks and getting no
response.
Has anyone in the IBM i community had any success they can share?

I see that Arco Simonse, Matt Olson, Nathan Andelin, Richard Schoen
and Jack Woehr were active in this thread back in August 2018. I'm
wondering if they have anything to add.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Rob
