I may be losing my mind, but I could have sworn that I saw an article that said as of V7R4 you no longer had to have an exclusive lock on a physical file to change the authority.
We're on V7R3 and unlikely to ever get to V7R4 before being shuffled off to another platform, so it wasn't anything I spent time investigating. Now I can't find that anywhere. All my searches are returning copious results with Authority Collections and other V7R4 enhancements, but not this.
Was that a figment of my imagination?
(FWIW: I know all about authority lists to circumvent having to establish locks for security changes. Already done that. I'm looking for a change where we can change direct security on a file without having an exclusive lock on the object.)
