I am not a vendor. I have done several of my own migrations from earlier hardware to newer hardware. With and without tape.
However I have three Power systems, each with 5 lpars of IBM i for a total of 15 lpars of IBM i.
With this in mind, if I was at your level I would contract this job out to those more in the know.
But, if you are already working for a consultant and they took this job and foisted it on you I pity you. Decades ago I did the consultant gig and had some new projects which no one there knew beans about. New OS, new language, etc and I had only been working there two weeks.
